THE PHYSICAL CONDITION OF OPERATORS

Operators must be in good physical and mental health and not under the infl uence of any substance which may impair their vision, dexterity and judgment.

Do not operate the machine if you are   red. Fa  gue can lead to loss of control. Working with the

Olive Harves  ng Machine

can be tedious. Do not use the

machine if you do not possess the necessary strength to operate it. Also, if you have any health condi  on that may be aggravated by strenuous work with the
machine, consult your doctor fi rst.

Prolonged use of the machine, which exposes the operator to vibra  ons, can cause long-term hand problems. In order to reduce this risk, please note

the following:

-   The handles of the machine are designed in such a way as to reduce the transmission of vibra  ons from the machine to the operator’s hands.
-   Wear protec  ve gloves during opera  on and keep your hands warm.
-   Keep the handles in good condi  on. Damaged handles vibrate intensely.
-   Always hold the handle in the same fi rm manner. Grabbing the handle with excessive force does not have good results.

Persons wearing a pacemaker should consult their doctor before using the machine.

The permi  ed period of use of the machine by each operator should not exceed 1 ½ hours per day. If the machine is to be used for more than one hour,

work teams should distribute the work so that no operator exceeds the aforemen  oned limit.

The clothing worn must be comfortable and allow for free movement. Avoid wearing loose clothing such as   es, handkerchiefs and anything that
could be tangled around the harves  ng s  ck.

Protec  ve gloves help to improve grip on the handle and improve overall handling. They also protect the hands from the machine chain. Non-slip
protec  ve gloves are recommended.

Good body posi  oning and support are important during work. For this reason, comfortable boots with non-slip soles are recommended to be
worn.

The operator should also should keep in mind that prolonged exposure to loud noise causes hearing loss or impairment. Wear an appropriate
hearing protec  on device to protect yourself from loud noises. Opera  on of the machine requires the full a  en  on of the operator. Never listen
to music or radio with headphones while opera  ng the machine.

Be prepared for emergency situa  ons. Keep a fi rst aid kit in an easily accessible loca  on near the work area to be able to use it
whenever needed. Have emergency phone numbers (fi re, ambulance, hospital, doctor) wri  en down near your phone.

USING THE MACHINE

The machine goes through an inspec  on a  er its manufacture to ensure that it operates correctly and therea  er obtains approval for use. Do not

modify the

Olive Harves  ng Machine

in any respect. Only the manufacturer’s spare parts are approved and can ensure safe use. The use of other parts not

approved by the manufacturer can be extremely dangerous when opera  ng the machine.

Always turn off  the machine before laying it down or carrying it. Carrying the machine while it is in opera  on is extremely dangerous.

If the machine is subjected to abnormally high loads, then check that it is correctly assembled before you start your work.

Before star  ng work, check that the machine cable and extension cable are in good condi  on.

When plugging the cord into the power socket, make sure that the machine’s switch is turned off .

Never use the power cord to carry, pull or unplug the tool from the socket.

Keep the power cord away from heat sources, lubricants, sharp edges or moving parts. When using the tool outdoors, use an extension cord adapted for
outdoor use. If you must use the tool in a wet place, use a power supply that is protected against current leakage (RCD).
