IT manager who wants to dump the same
addresses into multiple machines, he can
simply import the same file to each machine.
Of course, the preconfigured short-cut keys
are the quickest way to establish a network
destination for a scan. But besides direct
entry and shortcuts, users can also search
the device’s internal address book for email
and fax entries.
A real innovation in this class of device is
Muratec F-560’s support of LDAP (Light
Directory Access Protocol). With this
integration, users can search an
organization’s entire LDAP directory for all
network addresses. This is a surprising (and
welcome) feature for this class of device.
Specifying Delivery Attributes:
The “Others” key, found on the lower left
corner of the scan-to screen, brings users to
an array of soft keys that lets them specify--
among other attributes- file formats (PDF,
TIFF, or JPEG ), file names, and “batch
scanning.” When this last option is turned off,
scanned images are sent as multiple files.
This can be especially useful when sending a
large file, such as an email attachment, since
email servers are often configured to reject
email sizes above a certain limit. Any
function found under the "others" screen can
be moved to the default screen for easy
access.
For email delivery, subject and text fields
need to be set. The Muratec F-560 handles
email subject and text creation in three ways.
A default subject/text can be established and
configured through either the Web or the
console, saving users from entering them at
the console. Another approach is to set up a
subject/text template — either through the
Web interface or the console — that could be
