Operational and Maintenance Manual 

Training 

 
It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that all personnel who operate 

the Wire Winder are adequately trained to do so. 
 

The owner/operator training shall include the following items: 

 

 

Checking Safety items. 

 

A run through of equipment. 

 

Control layout and what the controls do. 

 

Risks associated with operating a Wire Winder. 

 

Recommended safety clothing/equipment. 

 

Serviceable Items. 

 

Owner and Operator Responsibilities 

 

The responsibilities of the owner and operators of a Wire Winder are listed 

below: 
 

 

All personnel involved in the operation, inspection and maintenance 
of the Wire Winder are adequately trained. 

 

Manuals applicable to the Wire Winder are available to operators and 

maintenance personnel. 

 

A maintenance logbook is maintained on the Wire Winder (Supplied 

at the back of this manual). 

 

If the Wire Winder is not safe for operation it shall be immediately 

removed from service.  

 

Be familiar with and understand the operating instructions and 

emergency procedures. 

 

Check the work area for operational hazards.
