Operational and Maintenance Manual
Major Inspection and Overhaul.
It is recommended that the Wire Winder be returned for a Major Inspection
and Overhaul after a maximum of ten years of service and every five years
thereafter.
A complete strip down and non-destructive examination shall be completed.
Particular attention shall be paid to the following areas:

Structural defects
•
Hydraulic System
•
Safety Upgrades
–
If applicable.
•
Manuals for safety operation and maintenance are still adequate.
Future use of the Wire Winder shall also be determined during this
inspection. Consideration should be given to the following:
•
Actual Past Usage
•
General Condition
•
Anticipated usage
•
Practicality of upgrading to latest OH&S and Standard requirements.
