Firmware upgrade
6.1.
Introduction
To upgrade the firmware on the Video Grabber one has to provide the file with new firmware using
one of the following mediums:
1.
microSD card with FAT32 filesystem
2.
USB pendrive with FAT32 filesystem connected to mini USB port
3.
TFTP server accessible on 192.168.5.1 address via Video Grabber’s LAN1

microSD card / USB pendrive
The procedure of upgrading the firmware using microSD card and USB pendrive is exactly the same.
The only difference is the physical medium used for firmware file transmission. In the following
instruction word “media” refers to either microSD card or USB pendrive.
1.
Copy the file to the media.
It is imperative that the file has the correct name – hlcode.dnl and that the file is located in
root directory.
2.
Connect the media to the Video Grabber whose firmware is to be updated.
3.
Switch Video Grabber into firmware upgrade mode. There are 3 ways to do that:
a.
Using Web interface:
i.
Open the Video Grabber’s web interface
ii.
Go to the Configuration page
iii.
Click Force firmware update button.
b.
Using SNMP (See 5.5.11, p.63):
i.
Write 1 to 1.3.6.1.4.1.46236.1.3.11.3.0
ii.
Write 4321 to 1.3.6.1.4.1.46236.1.3.11.1.0
c.
Using Reset button:
i.
Press Reset button.
ii.
When Multisoft logo appears, press Reset button again.
iii.
Repeat previous point two more times.
4.
At this point Video Grabber will restart and start the firmware upgrade. It will show a
progress bar on its OLED screen and restart once the procedure is finished.
