Method 2: Field Calibration
This method can be carried out in an end-user lab environment and relies on the use of a
third-party optical sampling scope as a reference. Due to its higher energy density, a PRBS
signal can also be used to extract an accurate frequency response via a calibrated reference
instrument. It is recommended to capture the reference signal at the highest Baud rate
supported by the ML DSO in order to maximize frequency reach:

Using a ML MATLAB program, figure below, the end user can capture and save a .csv
waveform using the reference instrument with
SIRC enabled
.

Using the same setup, the end user should capture and save an offline raw data
capture from the MultiLane optical DSO at different gain levels.

These two waveforms must then be loaded into the MATLAB software. An overlay will
be drawn as depicted below and following this a filter file will be extracted.
