This examination can only be performed if 7 is successful.
Place the maximum permissible dead weight (600 lbs / 281 kg) directly under the Tripod.
Connect the tension indicator to the eyelet on the load. Lower the snap hook keeping a hand tight
tension on the cable till the hook reached the connector of the tension indicator. Attach the snap
hook of the winch to the tension indicator, ensure it is secure.
Switch on the tension indicator. Raise the weight using the Winch 1 m from the surface. Hold the
weight at the height of 1 m for 3 minutes. Lower the weight again to the surface.
Record your findings on the examination check sheet.
If at any time during the test slippage occurs the test has failed, and the Winch will require to be
tagged unserviceable withdrawn from service.
