Dense soil, moss and weeds prevent young grasses from penetrating upwards: the lawn is
matted. Weeds displace the grass.
This scarifier has been designed to rip out moss and weeds of and to aerate the soil. As a
result, the young grass shoots grow and sprout again instead of everything being covered
with moss. The lawn looks clean and can better absorb nutrients.
The lawn scarifier is pushed by hand over the area of grass to be cut. The cutters are driven
by a petrol engine.
The depth of cut is set by varying the central height-adjustment mechanism individually.
The scarifier can be retrofitted to a lawn aerator in just a few steps.
Scarification – in spring and autumn
The rotating scar is slammed into the soil a few millimetres deep. The cutter deck rotates
and removes moss and weeds and collects the scarified material into the grass catcher. The
cutters penetrate and loosen the ground; therefore, the lawn absorbs nutrients better. The
best time of year to scarify a lawn is in spring during the months of March and April. You
should cover a mossy lawn with dense weed growth at least once a year.
Aeration – throughout the season
The cutter deck (aerator shaft) rotates, combs the lawn and aerates the slightly mossy areas.
The removed moss is conveyed outwards or into the grass catcher. During aeration, the
surface of the ground is scratched; this improves water drainage and facilitates the absorp-
tion of oxygen.
We recommend aerating the lawn during the entire growing period as when required.
The aerator roller just scratches the surface of the soil, but it does not tear out weeds. This
helps water to drain off more easily promotes the intake of oxygen. Aerate throughout the
growing period.
Use on dry lawn only
No matter whether scarification or aeration: Give your lawn a break if it is wet. After pro-
longed rain, your lawn is so softened that it will be destroyed during scarification. Wait for a
one-week period without rain before you use the scarifier.
Intended use
The machine is suitable for private use machines with an average annual runtime of less
than 10 hours. The primary use is maintenance of small-scale, residential lawns and home or
hobby gardens. It is unsuitable for public facilities, sports areas and agricultural or forestry
applications. The warranty will be void if the machine is used any of those commercial or
