used, the antenna cable is routed towards an external antenna through an opening on the back
side of the PCMCIA & SIM compartment door (see Figure 19).
SIM Installation
SIM card is a small smart card that fits inside the MW810. The SIM card holds identification
information about the MW810 Mobile Workstation WWAN radio including the network
activation.
To install a SIM card, perform the following steps:
Step 1. Open the PCMCIA & SIM compartment door.
Step 2. Press the SIM Drawer Eject Button and slide-out the SIM drawer.
Step 3. Place the SIM card inside the drawer. Make sure that the gold plate of the SIM card is
facing up and the cut corner of the SIM card fits in the proper direction in the drawer.
Do not remove the seals from the PCMCIA card door. The seals press
against the antenna cable when the door is closed.
Before installing the SIM Card, turn off the MW810. Inserting/
removing the SIM card when MW810 Mobile Workstation is
running can corrupt SIM card information. Please, insert/
remove the SIM card when MW810 Mobile Workstation is
turned off.
