Receiving an Email Message
If your handset is set up to check periodically for new
email messages, your handset displays the
É
(message
waiting) indicator and a
New Message
notification, and
sounds an alert when you receive an email message.
If reminders are turned on, your handset sends a reminder at
regular intervals until you close the new message notification, read
the message, or turn off your handset.
When your handset displays
Memory is Full!
, you must delete some
existing messages from your inbox, outbox, or drafts folder to
receive new messages.
Tip:
New email messages are completely downloaded to your
handset. With the IMAP4 protocol, if message size is greater than
the
Size restriction
setting, the email message header is downloaded
instead. While downloading a series of messages, you can press
the
END
key to end the connection with the email server when
downloading of currently transferred message is complete. Press
the
END
key a second time to end the connection immediately.

Note:
You must set up your email inbox before you can send and
receive email messages. Usually, your service provider has already
set up the email inbox for you. Contact your service provider for
setup details and values, if necessary.
Messages in the email inbox are sorted from newest to oldest.
Symbols next to each unread (
<
) or read (
>
) message indicate if
it is urgent (

), locked (

), or has an attachment (
