Verwendungsmöglichkeiten
Die aktive Subwooferbox PSUB-600 ist mit einem
38-cm-Tieftöner (15") bestückt und kann in Kombi-
nation mit Satelliten- oder Fullrange-Lautsprechern
optimal für PA- und DJ-Anwendungen eingesetzt
werden (z. B. für Saalbeschallungen, in Diskothe-
ken, bei Tanzveranstaltungen etc.).
Die Aktivbox ist mit einer 300-W-Endstufe und
einem einstellbaren 18-dB-Tiefpassfilter ausgestat-
tet und verfügt über eine semiparametrische Klang-
regelung (max. +6 dB, 30 – 50 Hz). Für das Aus-
gangssignal an den symmetrischen Line-Ausgängen
kann ein einstellbarer 12-dB-Hochpass zugeschaltet
werden. Der Subwoofer wird durch ein einstellbares
Subsonic-Filter sowie umfassende Schutzschaltun-
gen geschützt. Durch Regler für den Pegel und die
Phasenlage lässt er sich optimal an die Satelliten-
lautsprecher anpassen.

Anschluss
Vor dem Anschluss bzw. vor dem Ändern bestehen-
der Anschlüsse die Aktivbox ausschalten.
1) Die Signalquelle mit Line-Ausgang (z. B. Misch-
pult) kann entweder über XLR- oder 6,3-mm-
Klinkenstecker an die Buchsen INPUT LEFT und
RIGHT
(MONO)
(9) angeschlossen werden.
Ist nur ein Mono-Eingangssignal vorhanden,
den Ausgang der Signalquelle an die Buchse
RIGHT
(MONO)
anschließen.
2) Nachfolgende Aktivlautsprecher oder Endstufen
an die Line-Ausgänge OUTPUT LEFT und
RIGHT
(MONO)
(8) anschließen. Bei Mono-Be-
trieb die Buchse RIGHT
(MONO)
verwenden.
3) Zum Schluss die Aktivbox über das beiliegende
Anschlusskabel mit einer Netzsteckdose (230 V~/
50 Hz) verbinden.

Bedienung
Alle Einstellungen und Klangbeurteilungen können
nur in Verbindung mit den Satellitenlautsprechern
erfolgen. Der Klang sollte am endgültigen Hörplatz
beurteilt und durch eine zweite Person am Aktiv-Sub-
woofer nach Anweisung optimal angepasst werden.
Vor dem Einschalten sollte der Regler LEVEL
(13) in die Position „0“ gestellt werden, um eventu-
elle Einschaltgeräusche zu vermeiden.
1) Die angeschlossene Signalquelle einschalten.
2) Die Aktivbox mit dem Ein-/Ausschalter POWER
(17) einschalten. Als Betriebsanzeige leuchtet
die grüne LED POWER (10).
3) Mit dem Regler SUB CROSSOVER (4) die obere
Trennfrequenz für den Subwoofer einstellen, d. h.
die Frequenz, die nicht mehr durch den Subwoo-
fer wiedergegeben werden soll (je niedriger die
obere Trennfrequenz, desto schwerer die akusti-
sche Ortung des Subwoofers; je höher die Trenn-
frequenz, desto stärker die Bassunterstützung).
4) Mit dem Regler LOW CUT (3) lässt sich die
Grenzfrequenz für das Low-Cut-Filter (Hochpass)
im Bereich 20 Hz (SUBSONIC) bis 120 Hz einstel-
len. Tieffrequente Störungen unterhalb der einge-
stellten Grenzfrequenz (z. B. Trittschall) werden
unterdrückt.
5) Mit dem Regler BASS BOOST LEVEL (6) können
bestimmte Frequenzen im Tiefbassbereich bis zu
6 dB angehoben werden. Die Frequenz für die
Bassanhebung mit dem Regler BASS BOOST
FREQUENCY (5) einstellen.
6) Zum Einschalten des Hochpasses für die Ausgän-
ge OUTPUT LEFT und RIGHT
(MONO)
(8) die Tas-
te CROSSOVER/BYPASS (1) ausrasten. Mit
dem Regler SAT CROSSOVER (2) die untere
Trennfrequenz für die Satellitenlautsprecher ein-
stellen, d. h. die Frequenz, die nicht mehr durch
die Satellitenlautsprecher wiedergegeben werden
soll. Dadurch wird der Verstärker für die Satelliten-
lautsprecher von den tiefen Frequenzen entlastet.
Soll an den Ausgängen OUTPUT LEFT und
RIGHT
(MONO)
das ungefilterte Eingangssignal
herausgeführt werden (z. B. für Fullrange-Laut-
sprecher), die Taste CROSSOVER/BYPASS drü-
cken. Bei eingerasteter Taste ist der Hochpass für
die Ausgänge überbrückt und der Regler SAT
CROSSOVER hat keine Funktion.
7) Das Lautstärkeverhältnis des Subwoofers zu den
übrigen Lautsprechern mit dem Regler LEVEL (13)
einstellen. So lässt sich eine natürliche oder eine
bewusst verstärkte Basswiedergabe einstellen.
Leuchtet die gelbe Übersteuerungsanzeige CLIP
(11) auf, den Regler entsprechend zurückdrehen.
8) Die Phasenlage für den Subwoofer mit dem Reg-
ler PHASE (7) einstellen. Diese Einstellung ist je
nach den akustischen Gegebenheiten stärker
oder schwächer wahrnehmbar. Am besten lässt
sich die Einstellung bei einem Musikstück mit
einem E-Bass, einem Kontrabass oder einer tie-
fen Bassstimme vornehmen. Den Regler PHASE
auf lauteste Basswiedergabe einstellen. Danach
bei Bedarf den Regler LEVEL wieder etwas
zurückdrehen.
9) Ist durch die Verdrahtung eine Masseschleife ent-
standen, tritt ein Brummen auf (z. B. bei leisen
Musikpassagen). Diese Masseschleife lässt sich
mit dem Ground-Lift-Schalter (16) unterbrechen
(Schalter in Position LIFT). Andererseits ist der
Verstärker nicht gegen elektrische Störfelder ab-
geschirmt, wenn das Gehäuse nicht an Masse
liegt. Im Zweifelsfall den Schalter wechselweise
schalten, um die optimale Einstellung zu finden.

Schutzschaltung
Bei aktivierter Schutzschaltung leuchtet die rote LED
PROTECT (12) und die Lautstärke wird reduziert:
1. kurz nach dem Einschalten und Ausschalten
2. bei Überhitzung der Endstufe bzw. einem Defekt
(Kurzschluss oder Gleichspannungsüberlage-
rung am Endstufenausgang)
Leuchtet die LED PROTECT während des Betriebs
auf oder erlischt sie nicht nach dem Einschalten, das
Gerät ausschalten und die Fehlerursache beheben.

appliance may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug,
proceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured green and yellow
must be connected to the terminal in the plug
which is marked with the letter E or by the earth
symbol ,

Applications
The active subwoofer system PSUB-600 is equipped
with a 38 cm (15") bass speaker. In combination with
satellite speakers or full range speakers it can be
used in an optimum way for PA and DJ applications
(e. g. for PA applications in halls, in discothèques, at
dancing events, etc.).
The active system is equipped with a 300 W pow-
er amplifier and an adjustable 18 dB low pass filter
and has a semi-parametric equalizer (max. +6 dB,
30 – 50 Hz). For the output signal at the balanced
line outputs an adjustable 12 dB high pass can addi-
tionally be switched. The subwoofer is protected by
an adjustable subsonic filter and extensive protec-
tive circuits. By controls for the level and the phase
it can be matched in an optimum way to the satellite
speakers.

Connection
Always switch off the active speaker system prior to
making or changing any connections.
1) The signal source with line output (e. g. mixer)
can either be connected via XLR or 6.3 mm plugs
to the jacks INPUT LEFT and RIGHT
(MONO)
(9).
If only a mono input signal is available, con-
nect the output of the signal source to the jack
RIGHT
(MONO)
.
2) Connect the subsequent active speakers or
power amplifiers to the line outputs OUTPUT
LEFT and RIGHT
(MONO)
(8). In case of mono
operation use the jack RIGHT
(MONO)
.
3) Finally connect the active system via the supplied
cable to a mains socket (230 V~/50 Hz).

Operation
Any adjustments and sound evaluations must only
be made in connection with the satellite speakers.
The sound should be evaluated at the final place of
hearing where a second person at the active sub-
woofer should be instructed to perform an optimum
adjustment.
Prior to switching-on, the control LEVEL (13)
should be set to position “0” to prevent possible
switching-on noise.
1) Switch on the connected signal source.
2) Switch on the active system with the POWER
switch (17). The green LED POWER (10) lights up.
3) With the control SUB CROSSOVER (4) adjust
the upper crossover frequency for the subwoofer,
i.e. the frequency not to be reproduced any more
by the subwoofer (the lower the upper crossover
frequency, the more difficult the acoustic location
of the subwoofer; the higher the crossover fre-
quency, the more powerful the bass support).
4) With the control LOW CUT (3) it is possible to
adjust the limit frequency for the low cut filter
(high pass) in the range 20 Hz (SUBSONIC) up to
120 Hz. Low-frequency interference below the
adjusted limit frequency (e. g. subsonic sound) is
suppressed.
5) With the control BASS BOOST LEVEL (6) it is
possible to boost certain frequencies in the low
bass range up to 6 dB. Adjust the frequency for
the bass boost with the control BASS BOOST
FREQUENCY (5).
6) To switch on the high pass for the outputs OUT-
PUT LEFT and RIGHT
(MONO)
(8), disengage the
button CROSSOVER/BYPASS (1). With the con-
trol SAT CROSSOVER (2) adjust the lower
crossover frequency for the satellite speakers,
i.e. the frequency not to be reproduced any more
by the satellite speakers. Thus, the amplifier for
the satellite speakers will be relieved from the low
frequencies.
For routing the unfiltered input signal at the
outputs OUTPUT LEFT and RIGHT
(MONO)
(e. g.
for full range speakers), press the button CROSS-
OVER/BYPASS. With the button engaged, the
high pass for the outputs is bridged and the con-
trol SAT CROSSOVER has no function.
7) Adjust the volume ratio of the subwoofer to the
other speakers with the control LEVEL (13).
Thus, a natural or a deliberately amplified bass
reproduction can be adjusted. If the yellow over-
load LED CLIP (11) lights up, turn back the con-
trol correspondingly.
8) Adjust the phase for the subwoofer with the con-
trol PHASE (7). According to the acoustic condi-
tions, this adjustment is more or less audible. The
phase can best be adjusted during a music piece
with an electric bass, a contrabass, or a deep
bass voice. Set the control PHASE to the bass
reproduction of the highest volume. Then slightly
turn back the control LEVEL, if required.
9) If a ground loop has been created due to the
wiring, humming will occur (e. g. with low-volume
music passages). This ground loop can be inter-
rupted with the groundlift switch (16) [switch in
position LIFT]. On the other hand, the amplifier is
not screened against electric noise fields if the
housing is not grounded. In case of doubt, set the
switch alternately to find the optimum adjustment.
