1.

TO INSTALL VALVE BODY

Drill a 7/8” diameter center hole in the mounting surface for the
spout shank and  two 1-3/16” diameter holes 5” on either side of
the center hole for each valve body.

Remove escutcheon adjuster

(16)

and turn valve mounting nuts

(21)

and spout shank mounting nut

(24)

all the way down for

clearance. Drop mounting washers

(20)

on valve bodies and 1

mounting washer

(28)

or bracket

(26)

onto spout shank.

2. Insert assembly up through deck holes. Drop 1 mounting washer

(20)

on spout shank and insert retaining ring

(28)

onto spout shank.

Install locknuts

(19)

on valve bodies so that top of valve body is flush

with top of mounting nuts (nut to be fully engaged). Tighten nuts on
shank and valve bodies from below using a basin wrench.  Reinstall
escutcheon adjuster

(16)

.

Connect supply lines. Proceed to install trim.

INSTALL TRIM

Open trim package and check to see that all parts for the tub filler installation have been enclosed:

•

1 spout assembly

• 2 handle assemblies

• 2 temperature indicators

•

1 spout escutcheon

• 2 handle escutcheons

• 2 stem extensions (khaki)

•

1 set screw

• 1 plug button

• 1 hardware kit

When top of valve body

(28)

is flush with locknut

(25)

, valve body outlet ports will be 3-1/2" below

finished deck. Valve locknuts and retaining ring

(29)

are to be on the same plane.

7.

Hot/Cold Temperature Indicator Installation (OPTIONAL)

If the temperature indicators are desired on your faucet,
installation is as follows:

a. Remove the handle hub

(6)

from the lever handle

(1)

by grasping

the handle hub in one hand and separating the handle from the
handle hub with the other hand.

b. Install the RED (HOT) temperature indicator onto a handle

assembly by aligning the indicator slots with the chassis

(2)

tabs,

then sliding the temperature indicator over the chassis until it
makes contact with the handle.

c. Re-assemble the handle assembly with temperature indicator

into the handle hub, making sure that the chassis tabs align with
the handle hub slots. Push the handle hub onto the chassis
until it stops.

d. Repeat the above steps for installing the BLUE (COLD)

temperature indicator onto the other handle assembly.

CAUTION:

Remove burrs and bevel end of shank. Failure to do so may result in

damaged spout o-ring during spout installation.

CAUTION:

See template above for roll pin location. Drill a 7/32" hole into tub base.

Install spout escutcheon

(13)

with roll pin.

4. Apply a bead of plumber’s putty (not provided) under the bottom of the spout

escutcheon

(13)

. Using the silicone grease packet (supplied), apply the silicone

grease to the spout mounting shank pictured above. Place the spout
escutcheon over the mounting shank and onto the deck and install roll pin

(30)

.

With the roll pin in place, assemble the spout

(11)

onto the mounting shank by

engaging the mounting shank into the spout, then lowering the spout onto the
spout escutcheon. Install the set screw

(10)

and secure the spout to the deck

with a 5/32” hex wrench (provided) by applying a slight downward pressure to
the spout, and rotating the hex wrench clockwise until the spout is firmly seated
against the spout escutcheon.

NOTE:

The aerator is pre-assembled into the spout.

6. Apply a bead of plumber’s

putty (not provided) under the
bottom of the two handle
escutcheons

(7).

Place

handle escutcheons over
each valve body, allowing
them to rest on deck.  Rotate
the valve stem extensions
pictured above to the “OFF”
position (clockwise for HOT
and counter-clockwise for
COLD).

8. Position the HOT (left) handle assembly on

valve pointing away from the spout mounting
position. Holding the lever handle

(1)

stationary

with one hand, apply a slight downward
pressure and rotate the handle hub

(6)

clockwise with the other hand (

Hint:

to ensure

correct handle installation, rotate the handle hub
counter-clockwise first until handle assembly
drops into position, then rotate the handle hub
clockwise to install). Taking care not to
cross-thread, continue to tighten the handle
hub by hand until it is firmly seated against the
handle escutcheon

(7)

.

NOTE:

The handle should stop in the “OFF”

position when the handle is pointing away from the
spout position, and full “ON” when the handle is
pointing towards the spout.  Repeat
the above step for installing the COLD (right)
handle assembly.

Valve Stem
Extension

5. Remove phillips head screw

(14)

and replace white colored stem

extension with khaki colored stem extension (supplied with trim kit).
Temporarily place handle assembly onto stem extension

(15)

making sure that lever handles point 180° away from spout. If handle
rotation is not at desired side, remove and rotate stem extension
180°. Reinstall screw

(15)

.

5

Install tub spout first.  If needed, with a pipe cutter or hacksaw, cut
the mounting shank to required height (2” [51mm] to 3” [76mm])
above finished deck.
