PRE ALARM RECORDINGS
During alarm recording, recording can be started a few
seconds before the ALARM IN terminal is grounded or
motion is detected.
For details concerning pre-alarm recording set-
tings, see “Normal recording/alarm recording mode
settings A ~ D”,
see page 35.

Recording process
Pre-alarm recording :
1) The PRE-ALARM indicator flashes during pre-alarm re-
cording and lights during standby.
2) Starts recording video before the ALARM IN terminal is
ground or motion is detected.
3) Can only be executed when pre-alarm recording has
been set in the <RECORD SETTING> screen or <RECORD
SETTING A > ~ <RECORD SETTING D> screen. The re-
cording channels after input of an alarm signals is executed
only of camera set in the <RECORD SETTING> screen
and <RECORD SETTING A > ~ <RECORD SETTING D>
screen.
Pre-alarm recording and normal recording can-
not be executed simultaneously.
The pre-alarm recording time differs depending
on the recorded contents. The recording time may
also differ depending on the video contents or the
timing of the alarm signal input.

Although playback is available while the PRE-
ALARM indicator is on, normal recording cannot be
made.

EMERGENCY RECORDINGS
If the EMERGENCY terminal on the alarm sensor makes
contact when the MAIN switch on the back of the unit, and
the POWER button on the front of the unit are both ON,
EMERGENCY RECORDING will start automatically over-
riding all other settings.

Emergency recording cannot be made when the
MAIN switch is OFF, the POWER switch is OFF and
the unit is in timer recording standby.
For details concerning emergency recording set-
tings,
see page 41.
Emergency recording :
1) Records only for the time specified in recording interval
“25P” and recording picture quality “SUPER”.
2) Cameras used
• Recording is performed using all cameras other than those
set to “- - - - -” in “REC MODE”.
• During timer recording, recording is performed using all
cameras other than those set to “- - - - -” in the recording
mode of the set time frame.
3) During recording
• The EMERGENCY indicator flashes and then runs on
when recording is completed. To turn off the indicator, dis-
play the <ALARM LIST SEARCH> screen and press the
WARNING RESET button for more than 5 seconds.
• The camera number buttons that are used for alarm re-
cording and the camera number display on the screen
flashes.
• The operation mode and “ALARM RECORDING” (in red)
are displayed on the screen.
4) Recording is stored and displayed in the alarm list in
red.

SERIES RECORDINGS
When connecting 2 units, recording with the second unit
can be set to start automatically when the HDD space of
the first unit becomes empty or when there is a failure dur-
ing HDD recording.
