DOWNLOAD OF LAN MICROCOMPUTER SOFTWARE
1. Outline
The LAN microcomputer software of the projector is
downloaded using FFFTP program.
2. Operating requirements
Use a LAN-supported personal computer in an environment
where Microsoft
®
Windows
®
2000/XP works properly.
3. Required files
To run the program, files described below are required.
• FFFTP program
: Program for download
• “LAN_v3_***.mot”
: Firmware data
(***: Version number)
Acquire the program software for download, “FFFTP program,”
from the site described below.

4. Preparation before starting up the
program
1. Install the FFFTP on the personal computer.
2. Set the IP address of the personal computer to
“192.168.0.**” (**: 3 to 254).
3. Connect the LAN terminals on the personal computer and
the projector using LAN cable (use a cross cable when
connecting them directly, and use a straight cable when
connecting via a HUB).
4. Copy the data folder on the desktop of Windows®.
5. Operating procedures
1. Start up the FFFTP program on the personal computer.
2. Select File / Host Setting in the FFFTP program menu.
The Host List window appears.
3. Select “New Host” and make settings as follows.
Profile Name
: XD8100U
Host Name / Address : 192.168.0.2
User Name
: admin
Password/Passphrase : test
4. Click “OK.”
5. Remove the lamp cover of the projector.
6. Turn the main power switch to ON while pressing the “◄
(COMPUTER)” button on the projector, and keep pressing
the “◄(COMPUTER)” button for 3 seconds or longer.
LAMP2 indicator illuminates in orange and the power is
supplied to the LAN microcomputer.
7. Select “Connect” in the Host List window. When the FFF-
TP: error window appears, press “Cancel this file.”
8. Select the file to be downloaded (LAN_v3_***.mot).
(*** : Version name)
9. Select Commands / Upload in the menu.
10. The upload window appears.
11. The upload window disappears upon completion of the
download.
Do not turn the main power switch to OFF until the window
disappears.
12. Turn the main power switch to OFF, remove the LAN ca-
ble, and then attach the lamp cover again.
Note 1
Turn the main power switch to OFF before removing
the LAN cable.
Note 2
Do not turn the main power switch to ON or OFF
during communication. When the communication is
interrupted, restart the personal computer.
Note 3
When the writing error occurs continuously, restart
the personal computer and then download the
software again.
