LINE HEAD
This machine is fitted with a “Tap to Go” head. To release more line, tap the ‘bump knob’ against the ground
with the engine at top speed: the line will be released automatically and the knife fitted to the guard will cut off
any excess line. Check to see if the nylon head is damaged before replacing the cord. If you can see serious
traces of wear or damage, you must replace the complete nylon head.
The line head contains 2.4mm nylon line, never use steel wire or other substitute materials.
•
Turn off the engine.
•
To refill the line head, cut a 3m length of 2.4mm line.
•
Turn the black ‘bump knob’ Fig 23B so the groove line on the ‘bump knob’ matches up with the arrows on
the orange head Fig 23A.
•
Push one end of the line into one of the eyelets in the side of the head and push this through until it comes
out of the eyelet on the opposite side of the head See Fig 24.
•
Pull the line through the head until there is an equal amount of line either side of the head See Fig 25.
•
With one hand hold the head still and with the other hand hold the ‘bump knob’ and twist this
anti-clockwise until the line is wound into the head (Fig26), leaving appx 20cm of line visible either side
Fig 27.
