You must set your external MIDI synthesizer to have voices open on 6 MIDI channels (corresponding to the channels assigned above).
If you have set up your device correctly, you should be able to press
the Kitara’s neck buttons on all six strings and hear notes played.
If you only hear notes played on one string, it means your synthesizer is
only listening on one MIDI channel. You should check your user manual
and try again.
Please consult the user manual of your MIDI device if you have any
trouble doing this.
NOTE: Make sure you do not set your synthesizer to
Omni mode
– this
means it listens to all MIDI channels but treats them as a single channel.
STEP 2
You must enable the legato function of your external MIDI synthesizer. This is necessary to achieve pleasant sounding hammer-ons etc.
Please consult the user manual of your MIDI device if you have any trouble doing this.
