3.8   Horizontal Phase

Horizontal phase adjusts the horizontal position of active video with respect to the
signal’s burst.  The horizontal phase range for NTSC and PAL-M formats is 1.482
us, whereas the horizontal phase range for PAL-B,G,H,I and PAL-N is 2.370 us.
Follow these steps to set horizontal phase:

1.   From the main menu, press SELECT eight times to enter the H PHASE menu.

During this time, the H LED flashes.

2.   Press UP(+) to move the output image towards the right and press DOWN(-) to

move the image towards the left.  For a quicker response, keep the push-button
depressed.

3.   Press SELECT to store the horizontal phase for the current format.
4.   To return to the main menu, press SELECT until there is no more flashing LED.

NOTE:  Press UP(+) and DOWN(-) simultaneously to center the image.

3.9   Subcarrier Phase (NTSC only)

The subcarrier phase (hue level) adjustment has a range of -180

°

 to +180

°

.  Follow

these steps to set the subcarrier phase:

1.   Press SELECT until the SC LED flashes.
2.   Press UP(+) or DOWN(-) to set the required subcarrier phase.
3.   Press SELECT to store the subcarrier phase for the NTSC format and to return

to the main menu.

NOTE:  Press UP(+) and DOWN(-) simultaneously for a 0

°

 hue level.  SC

PHASE is selected only during NTSC operation.

3.10   V ANC Selection

Incoming vertical ancillary data can be manipulated in four possible ways.  Refer to
Table 3.2 for a description of each possible setting and Figure 3.1 for the location of
the V ANC jumper.

BLANK

Incoming V ANC data is removed.

DECODE

Incoming V ANC data is decoded.

BYPASS

Incoming V ANC data is unprocessed and buffered to the luminance
channel only.  Chroma data is set to 0.

USER

Incoming V ANC data is modified according to the remote ICP-S

configuration.  Refer to the ICP-S on-line help file for the ASD-211i/2D.

NOTE:  Normally, V ANC should not be set to USER if there is no ICP-S
communication.  However, you may use ICP-S to configure V ANC and download the
parameters to the ASD-211i/2D.  This way, you may select USER (without ICP-S
communication) to load the V ANC parameters previously downloaded.
