Cassette Type Detection

Cassette Detection Switch (SW21) with sector levers are provided in the Second Paper
Cassette Unit. When the paper cassette is inserted, the projections on the side of the cas-
sette push and turn on the switches corresponding to each paper size. These three
switches are provided as a set, and the printer recognizes the cassette type (paper size) by
the combination of ON/OFF states of the switches. The printer determines the cassette
type (paper size) by the combination of ON/OFF states of the switches.
