Add shims to make the latch looser. Remove shims to make the latch tighter. To add shims, add a notch to the shims
as shown. Then you will not have to remove the handle assembly. When you remove or add shims, always start
with the thinnest shim.

Make a notch as shown.

Put the machine screw, item 14, in from this direction. You must compress the torsion spring eye with the flat
washer (not shown).
P.
Compress the torsion spring 1/4 turn. Put the free end of the spring into this hole.
Q.
The shim thickness is (.230 inches).
R.
The shim thickness is (.015 inches).
