Description of Functions
Button (etc.) Description of uses
On/off
For switching the machine on and off. The best
way is to place your thumb flat against the
button and press it into the casing.
When switching off, hold the button down for
about one second.
Reset
Breaks off a game and returns you to the
games menu. A further press reverts to the
starting screen.
Volume
Place your finger against the knob and turn it
anti-clockwise (to increase the volume) or
clockwise (to decrease it or switch the sound
off).
NB: Please do not turn the volume up too far –
especially when playing with earphones – to
avoid damage to your hearing.
Navigator
Functions vary from one game to another. The
navigator usually serves to move an object or
actor in the game; also to select options.
A (square)
Performs the standard action in the current
game; also serves to confirm a selected
option.
B (circle)
Performs the secondary action (in some games
only).

turbo Perform action (A or B) continuously
(“automatic firing”).
Speaker
Emits the sound effects, unless you are using
earphones or a TV output.
Earphone
Socket
Plug your earphones in here. The socket takes
a standard 3.5 mm jack plug; any
conventional earphones with this connection
may be used.
TV output
socket
The TV cable that comes with the machine
should be plugged in here if you want to play
using your television set. For details of how
this works, see the following section.
