Heating-up phase
"Heating-up phase" appears in the
display when Fan plus, Auto roast,
Conventional, MW+Auto roast and
MW+Fan plus are used.
Rapid heat-up is available as standard
for all of these functions.
Rapid heat-up
R
On this function, several heating
elements are switched on together so
that the appliance reaches the
temperature required as quickly as
possible.
Once the desired temperature is
reached, a tone sounds.
The rapid heat-up phase should not
be used for some items such as
biscuits, small cakes and pizzas
because they will brown too quickly
from the top.
If you want to
switch off the rapid
heat-up phase for a cooking process
,
call up the "Heating-up phase" option
and select "Normal".
You can also
switch off the rapid
heat-up phase permanently
. See
"Settings - Heating-up phase".
Pre-heating the oven
Most dishes can be placed in a cold
oven. They will then make use of the
heat produced during the heating-up
phase.
It is only necessary to pre-heat the oven
in a few instances:
With Fan plus
pre-heat the oven:
– for foods which cook in less than 20
minutes and for foods such as puff
pastries and yeast mixtures where
instant heat is required to make them
rise quickly.
– for roasting beef/fillet.
With
Conventional heat
pre-heat the
oven:
– when baking cakes and biscuits with
a baking time of up to 30 minutes.
– when baking pastry and
cheesecake/flan bases,
– for foods which cook in less than 20
minutes and for foods such as puff
pastries and yeast mixtures where
instant heat is required to make them
rise quickly.
– for roasting beef/fillet.
The rapid heat-up phase should not
be used for some items such as
biscuits, small cakes and pizzas
because they will brown too quickly
from the top.
To pre-heat the oven:
^
Select the required function and set
the temperature.
^
Wait for the oven to reach the set
temperature.
Once the set temperature is reached,
a signal will sound (provided this is
activated - see "Settings - Volume -
Buzzer tones").
^
Then place the food in the oven.
