Options Common To Both The U3000/U4000
The following options are common to both the U3000 and U4000 instruments:
7.1.1 High temperature transducers
Type 'A-HT' and type 'B-HT' transducers are available for operation over the temperature range -20°C to
+200°C. These high temperature transducers can be used over an identical pipe diameter ranges as the
standard type ‘A-ST’ and type ‘B-ST’ transducers. The probe dimensions, guide rail fittings and cable
connection are also identical to the standard ‘A-ST’ and ‘B-ST’ transducers.
7.1.2 Large pipe diameter transducers
Type ‘D’ transducers are available for use with pipe diameters in the range 1500mm to 5000mm, operating
over the temperature range -20°C to +80°C. The type ‘D’ transducer kit is supplied in a separate case and
includes the sensors together with ratchet straps and guide rails for attaching to the pipe.
7.1.3 Guide
rail
options
The standard method of securing the guide rail to the pipe is by stainless steel banding. However, optional
end plates are available to allow fixing by chain.
7.1.4 Extended signal cable options
Normally the U3000/U4000 is supplied with 3m signal cable lengths. However, 1m and 5m lengths are
available as options.
If required, custom signal cables with lengths up to 100m can also be supplied. Consult Micronics Ltd for
further information and availability.
7.1.5 High temperature interface cable
Where the pipe temperature exceeds 80°C, a pair of 0.5m RG174 high temperature interface cables are
available to protect the standard transducer signal coaxial cables. The high temperature interface cables
have a maximum temperature rating of 200°C.
7.2
U4000 Options Only
7.2.1 Heat
meter
This factory fitted option allows the U4000 to calculate the heat energy between an inlet and outlet pipe at
different temperatures for a given flow rate. When this option is specified, two Pt100 thermocouples are
supplied with the instrument. Contact Micronics Ltd Sales for further information and availability.
7.2.2 MODBUS
The U4000 MODBUS RTU option is fully compliant to the MODBUS specifications. As standard they have an
RS485 or RS232 port. Contact Micronics Ltd Sales for further information and availability.
Note: Other options are continually being developed for the U4000. Contact Micronics Ltd Sales for further
information and availability.
