each individual case is different.

Monitor the Pulse Generator LED's
As you use the Alleva-Wave, occasionally look at its upper green LED or center yellow LED to make sure one is flashing. If the
upper green LED is flashing then the P2 is in Stimulation Mode during its cycle. If the center yellow LED is flashing then the Alleva-
Wave is in Rest Mode during its cycle.
If neither LED is lit then the battery is drained or the cycle profile switch may have been moved to the 0 (OFF) position.
Occasionally Change Coil Locations
One very good strategy is to occasionally change the placement of the coils. This helps direct the magnetic fields in different
directions toward the injured area, and thus aids the recovery process. Changing coil locations regularly works particularly well on
long-term programs.
For example, for lower back stimulation you might change the positions of the coils on your back several times during the day,
assuming they are in a Side-by-Side configuration. Then every two or three days switch from the Side-by -Side configuration to
an Opposite-Side configuration where one coil is located on the lower abdomen and the other on the lower back (both coils with
bumps out).
You can try many different coil placement strategies to see which ones work best for you. Changing coil locations, and therefore
changing the tissue stimulation pattern, is similar to occasionally changing the way you exercise. In both cases your body
experiences longer term health gains as it's subjected to a variety of different external stimulations.
Another reason to change coil locations is the effect of "accommodation", where tissues of the body often learn to ignore repeated
external signals. You can see this in many ways. One way is where certain exercises or workouts that used to work well no longer
seem to give the same benefit. Another is where pain drugs can have slightly less effectiveness through repeated use. And still
another is where very spicy foods that once were intolerable can taste good after building resistance to their chemical burn.
In the same way body tissues over time will tend to accommodate the Alleva-Wave’s pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF)
stimulation - if it is kept the same - and will therefore reduce the effectiveness of the stimulation. To reduce this accommodation
effect the brain and nervous system need to be kept "guessing" by periodically changing the PEMF stimulation orientation. You are
encouraged to try different coil location and configuration strategies to reduce the effects of tissue accommodation.
Turn Power Off When Done
Move the cycle profile switch to the 0 position when you are not using the Alleva-Wave. This helps to preserve battery energy. If a
rechargeable 9-volt battery is being used and if it is drained, then it can be placed in an appropriate battery charger in preparation
for next use.
Continue Recording the Injury or Pain Response
As you progress through the stimulations continue to keep a daily written record of your response. This will help you make
adjustments to coil placement locations and assist you in monitoring your progress.
Coil Placement Examples
Below are examples of how coils can be located on different parts of the body in either Side-by-Side or Opposite -Side
configurations. Two or more coil placement alternatives are shown for each injury area below to emphasize the importance of
periodically moving the coils into different orientations. Many other areas of the body can be stimulated with the Alleva-Wave
system beyond those shown.
