Installation and Initial Operation
4.1
Installation and Mounting
All jobs to be performed by the full-system manufacturers are described in this chapter.
The installation site should preferably be free of contaminants such as dust or fumes.
These can result in measurement uncertainties. If needed, use the optional air purging
function on the sensors to reduce the accumulation of dust, etc. on the glass panes for
the laser light.
The installation site should be free of vibration.
The installation site must have adequate stability.
Install the measuring system
4.2
Loosen Transport Lock
Cable ties secure the suspension of reference rulers against shocks.
Remove both cable ties on the drive side of the measuring system
.

Loosen the transport lock at the base frame and measurement carriage of the meas-
uring system.
4.3
Back-up Fuse
Refer to the electrical plan for the rating of the back-up fuse for the measuring system
. The customer must use loop impedance measurement and appropriate cable
cross-sections to ensure prompt triggering of the back-up fuse.
CAUTION
Crushing or impact
hazard caused by
displacement of moving
parts of the measuring
system. Only loosen
possible transport locks
after the machine has
been installed.
