control, the subject should be located within 40%
and 60% of the calculated maximum range. For
this particular example this equals a distance of
between 3.4 m and 5.1 m to the subject. For
close-ups the minimum distance should be 10% of
the calculated value to avoid over-exposure. Hen-
ce follows a minimum distance of 10% of 8.5 m =
0.85 m.
Please note that the maximum flash range relates
to subjects with a reflection factor of 25% which
usually applies to most photographic situations.
However, pronounced deviations from this reflec-
tion factor, e.g. with highly reflective or poorly
reflecting objects, can influence the range of the
mecablitz.
