5.2.1.8.1 Traffic Type
In order to provide port based traffic isolation this parameter defines what type of traffic
passes over this interface. The options are as below
User + Mgmt This port carries user and management traffic. Management frames
are switched to the processor, whilst user frames are switched to the
WAN port.
User only
This port only carries user traffic and ALL frames are switched to the
WAN port with no access to the management processor
Mgmt only
This port only carries Management Traffic and all frames are
forwarded to the management processor with no frames forwarded to
the WAN port.
5.2.1.8.2 Port Type
If the traffic isolation mode is set to VLAN mode, then the LAN port may be defined as
either an Access or Trunk port.
An Access port expects untagged frames to ingress, and will strip tags for egress frames.
The port will add the configured VLAN ID.
A Trunk port expects ingress and egress packets to be tagged.
5.2.1.8.3 VLAN/S-Tag ID
If the Traffic Isolation mode is set to VLAN then the LAN port may be assigned to a VLAN.
and all frames ingressing this port will have a VLAN Tag added. This configuration item
defines the VLAN ID which will be added and may be in the range (1 to 4095 ). One or
more ports may be assigned to the same VLAN and packets will then only switch between
those ports and the WAN interface.
In VLAN mode, packets are expected to ingress the LAN ports untagged, and will have
any tags stripped before egress.
If the traffic isolation mode is set to QinQ, then the defined S-TAG will be added to all
incoming frames. If ingress traffic is already C-Tagged then the S-TAG will be added as
the outer most tag giving QinQ operation.
