1.4 Safety devices
Like all our products, this machine was designed and manufactured to offer a high degree of
safety during use together with high levels of performance, easy operation and a high degree of
reliability. All safety devices are incorporated in the basic construction of the machine to ensure
a high level of reliability and to eliminate the possibility of manipulation.
As a safety measure, the machine is equipped with micro switches, which switch off the power
supply if the cover (F - Fig.1) is not positioned correctly and if the presser (C -Fig.1) is not
lowered completely. These devices are of the active safety type with forced opening of contacts
(IEC 337-1A) and are used to protect the operator's hands so that even with a voluntary
movement the moving cutting blades cannot be reached.
The start and stop controls switch the machine on or off through a command interface equipped
with a low-voltage (24V), safety, insulation transformer (CEI 14-6), which feeds an electro-
magnetic contactor that starts the machine by switching on the power circuit.
This type of circuitry impedes spontaneous starting after every interruption or variation of the
power supply voltage, making it necessary to have voluntary start commands (resetting) so as
