What you need to know about presettings
When installing the push-button, the electrician makes various settings
that enable you to use the MF push-button with RTCU correctly. Most of
the explanations provided on the following pages depend on these
settings. The electrician records the settings of relevance to you in a
table (see “Presettings table”, p. 53)

look up the corresponding value in the table.
The bottom six facing keys on the MF push-button can be configured ei-
ther as individual keys or as a pair. The keys are programmed with various
functions depending on the preset option
.
Each key has its own status display (Figure
/ B
), which, depending on
the preset option, briefly lights up when the corresponding key is
pressed, for example.
The push-button is equipped with an IR receiver (Figure
/ C
), with
which you can control the MF push-button with RTCU with any Merten
IR remote control. Each time keys 3-8 are pressed on the remote control,
the function of the corresponding key is triggered on the MF push-button
with RTCU (Figure
/

What you need to know about the room temperature control unit/display
With the integrated room temperature control unit, you can control
temperature in various different ways.
On the display (Figure
/ A
) you can read and set important information:
• Setpoint temperature
• Operation mode (comfort, standby, night, comfort extension)
• Working day/non-working day
• Display mode (setpoint temperature, current temperature, date
etc.)
• Background illumination
• Setting time/switching time

You will see the following symbols on the display:

Comfort mode or working day. The heating is adjusted
to the set comfort setpoint temperature

The flashing symbol means that the comfort extension
is active.
Standby mode or non-working day. The heating is
adjusted to the set standby setpoint temperature
.
Night operation. The heating is adjusted to the set night
setpoint temperature
.
