9. Attach safety chains (1) securely to the tow
vehicle to prevent unexpected separation.
Cross the chains when attaching.
10. Connect wiring harness (2) for the lights and
brakes.
11. Connect break-away system cable (3) to the
tow vehicle. Make sure key (4) on the end of
the cable is properly plugged into the receiving
unit.
12. Route all the cables in a manner that will
prevent snagging. Be sure to provide slack for
turning.
WARNING
The receiver must be bolted to the frame with
two bolts. The use of only one bolt could cause
the receiver assembly to separate from the
trailer, resulting in injury or death to bystanders.
