5. Install the anode into the back of the charge air cooler.
6. Open the seacock.
7. Start the engine and check for leaks.

IMPORTANT: Corrosion damage that results from the improper application of anti‑fouling paint is not covered by the limited
warranty.
In some areas it may be advisable to paint the bottom of the boat to help prevent marine growth. Contact a Mercury Diesel
authorized repair facility for recommendations for your boat.

WARNING
Incorrect cable lubrication can cause hydraulic lock, leading to serious injury or death from loss of boat control. Completely
retract the end of the steering cable before applying lubricant.
NOTE: If the steering cable does not have a grease fitting, the inner wire of the cable cannot be greased.

If the steering cable has grease fittings
, turn the steering wheel until the steering cable is fully retracted into the cable
housing. Apply approximately three pumps of grease from a typical hand‑operated grease gun.
