The warning horn will emit either a continuous beep or intermittent
short beeps. This will alert the operator and help identify the
following listed situations (see chart below). For visual display of
the specific engine functions and for additional engine data, refer
to SmartCraft Product information, following.

Cooling
system
problem
Continuous
Engine Guardian System is activated. Power
limit will vary with level of overheat. Stop
engine and check water intake for obstruction.
Oil level is
critically low
Continuous
Engine Guardian System is activated. Power
limit will allow a fast idle. The oil level is
critically low in the engine‑mounted oil
reservoir. Refill the engine‑mounted oil
reservoir along with the remote oil tank. Refer

Fuel and Oil
.
Oil pump
failure
Continuous
Engine Guardian System is activated. Power
limit will allow a fast idle. The warning horn is
activated if the oil pump should ever stop
functioning electrically. No lubricating oil is
being supplied to the engine.

limit may restrict engine speed to idle.
Intermittent
beep
Engine Guardian System
The Engine Guardian System monitors the critical sensors on the
engine for any early indications of problems. The system will
respond to a problem by emitting a continuous beep and/or
reducing engine power in order to provide engine protection.
