Folding the front seat backrest forwards/
back
With the EASY-ENTRY function, the seat moves
forwards if you have folded the seat backrest
forwards. This makes it easier for passengers to
get into and out of the rear passenger compart‐
ment of the vehicle.
Vehicles with the memory function

To fold forwards: pull seat release handle

and fold the seat backrest forwards as far
as it will go.
The seat moves automatically to the fore‐
most position.

To fold back: swing back the seat backrest
horizontally.
If the seat backrest is not engaged, this will
be shown on the multifunction display on the
instrument cluster. A warning tone also
sounds.
The seat moves automatically to the stored
position.
If the previous seat position can no longer be
set, for example because of luggage in the rear
passenger compartment footwell or after occu‐
pants have entered the rear passenger compart‐
ment of the vehicle:

Pull seat release handle

again and return
the seat backrest to an upright position.
The seat locks in the new fore-and-aft adjust‐
ment position.
Switching the seat heater on/off

WARNING Risk of burns due to repeat‐
edly switching on the seat heater
Repeatedly switching on the seat heater can
cause the seat cushion and seat backrest
padding to become very hot.
The health of persons with limited tempera‐
ture sensitivity or a limited ability to react to
excessively high temperatures may be affec‐
ted or they may even suffer burn-like injuries.

Do not repeatedly switch on the seat
heater.
