e. Connect an industrial vacuum cleaner to the
machine using the click or a plug-in system. Fol-
low the instructions in the images on page *7* (1c.
and 2c.) to connect an industrial vacuum cleaner
by means of the MENZER system. If a MENZER
universal adapter must be used in between, follow
the instructions on the pages *8* and *9* (1d.–3d.
to connect the adapter, 1e.–3e. to connect an
industrial vacuum cleaner to the adapter). Make
sure that a dust bag suitable for fine dust is insert
-
ed in the industrial vacuum cleaner beforehand.
f. Before connecting the device to the mains
outlet, ensure that the on/off switch is in position 0
(refer to page *3*). Then connect the plug on the
device to the mains outlet.
5.4 Settings and handling
(page *10*–*14*)
a. You can turn the industrial vacuum cleaner on
first and then the long-neck sander. Hold the ma
-
chine firmly and push the on/off switch to position
I (A – refer to page *3*). Expect a rotational effect
when you switch the machine on.
b. Hold the long-neck sander with both hands on
the insulated gripping zones provided (G1–3) (1a.
– refer to page *10*). To vary the range, you can
mount the extra handle (F) in various positions on
the machine’s tubes (2a. – refer to page *10*).
On the MENZER LHS 225 PRO VARIO
models, the working length is freely
adjustable in the range of 1,550 to 1,950 mm. In
order to do so, loosen the fixing nut (C – 4a. – re
-
fer to page *11*) until you can retract or extend the
extension tube (E VARIO – 5a. – refer to page
*11*). Now set the desired working length and
tighten the fixing nut (C) again (6a. – refer to page
*11*).
c. The rotation speed is continuously variable as
needed using the rotation speed control wheel
(B – see page *3*). This is also possible while
operating the machine. Higher speeds result in
higher removal rates, while slower speeds provide
more control over the sanding process.
d. Start the sanding process by carefully placing
the machine on the surface to be sanded.
Only apply enough pressure for the sanding
head to rest flat and flush on the surface.
Too much pressure can cause spiral scratch
patterns and bumps on the work surface and also
permanently damage the tool. We recommend a
circular, overlapping motion of the sanding head
on the work surface. The sander should stay in
motion until the desired smoothness has been
reached, as too long sanding in one spot can lead
to sanding marks.
