because the hotplates lose heat as soon
as they are open.
7. Close the lid and turn the waffle maker 180
degrees clockwise by turning the handle
(4). Wait around 1½ minutes. When the
green thermostat lights (3, 5) come on
again, turn the waffle maker 180 degrees
anticlockwise.
8. Open the lid. The waffle will now have the
colour of the thermostat button setting.
9. Carry on cooking, or remove the waffle
using a wooden spatula or a heat-resistant
plastic fork. Do not use metal utensils or
utensils that may scratch the hotplates.
10. Wait until the green thermostat lights (3,
5) come on again before making the next
waffle.
11. Switch off the appliance by unplugging it
once you have finished using it. Allow the
appliance to cool down before cleaning.
Note!
•
Do not pour the batter onto the hotplate
until the green thermostat lights come on.
•
The amount of batter depends, among
other things, on how thick the batter is and
what type of waffles you are making. The
easiest way to ensure that you get the
right amount of batter each time is to use a
measuring cup.
•
Do not open the lid for the first 1½ minutes
after pouring batter onto the hotplate, as
the waffle will not be sufficiently solidified.
•
If you take a break from making waffles,
close the lid to ensure the hotplates stay
hot.
HELPFUL HINTS
•
Place the waffles on a grille next to one
another so that they don’t go soft. If you
put them on top of one another, they lose
their crispness.
•
If you use milk instead of water, the waffles
will be softer and darker.
•
In order to achieve uniform browning, all
ingredients should be the same tempera-
ture.
