CLEANING
• Allow the engine to cool for at least 30 minutes before cleaning it (if it has been running)
• Cleaning the engine using a garden hose or high pressure washer may allow water to penetrate
into the air cleaner or muffler Water that gets into the air cleaner may make the filter damp,
and water that penetrates the air filter or muffler may reach the cylinder and cause damage
Water that comes into contact with a hot engine may cause damage
• Clean all external surfaces, touch up damaged paint and brush a thin coat of oil on surfaces that
are susceptible to rust
ENGINE OIL
Checking the oil level
NB
• The engine is supplied without engine oil and must be filled with oil in order to start
• Without oil, the engine can be severely damaged As a result, check the oil level prior to each
use The engine can be damaged if it is run with insufficient oil
• The engine must not be at an angle when the oil level is checked Check the oil level with the
engine turned off and on a flat surface
1
Remove the oil filler cap and the dipstick and wipe the stick
2
Insert and pull out the dipstick without screwing it all the way into the tank Check the oil
level on the dipstick
3
If the oil level is low, fill with the recommended oil up to the edge of the tank opening
4
Screw the cap/dipstick back in place
