OPERATION
Mains connection
The welding machine must be connected to an earthed mains supply.
Feeding of welding electrode
How to install the electrode coil:
1.
Remove the casing from the welding tip and unscrew the contact tip.
2.
Fit the electrode coil on the spindle.
3.
The free end of the welding electrode is secured in the hole on the coil flange. Release the end
from the hole and cut off the bent part of the electrode. Make sure that the electrode does not
slacken on the coil.
4.
Fit the pressure arm back into place and feed the electrode end through the hole in the casing end.
Make sure that the welding electrode is fed into the feed mechanism in a straight line.
5.
Push down the pressure arm and make sure that the welding electrode lies in the feed roller
groove. Note that the feed roller has two grooves, one for 0.6 mm welding electrodes and one for
0.8 mm welding electrodes. Make sure you use the right groove.
6.
To reverse the roller, release the two screws that hold the roller holder in place and remove the
holder. The roller can now be taken off its axle and reversed.
7.
Hold the welding tip away from you. Switch on the welding machine and activate the welding tip.
The feed roller rotates and feeds the welding electrode through the tip. Hold the welding tip as
straight as possible when doing this.
8.
When the end of the welding electrode comes out from the tip, move the contact tip over the
electrode (check that the tip is the right size for the actual welding electrode), pull out the tip and fit
the casing back into place.
Setting the voltage
The welding machine has a voltage selector on the front panel with which you can set a HIGH or LOW
voltage level.
Voltage selector
Speed control for feeding welding electrode
1.
High
2.
Low
3.
Slow:
4.
Fast
When you alternate between HIGH and LOW voltage levels the feed speed of the welding electrode
increases and decreases automatically and thereby also the welding input. Finely adjust the feeding of
the welding electrode with the speed control.
Welding
Before you start welding:
Make sure that you have read and understood the safety instructions in these Operating
Instructions.
Remove all flammable substances from the workplace.
Make sure that the area is well ventilated, especially at the front and back of the welding machine.
Make sure there is a suitable fire extinguisher within easy reach.
