ASSEMBLY
BAR AND CHAIN
1. Pull the kickback guard towards the front
handle to check that the chain brake is
applied.
2. Undo the two nuts (7) and remove the
clutch cover (2) and spacer (1).
3. Fit the chain round the chain sprocket
and put it round the bar. Fit the bar on
the saw. Fit the chain tensioning nut (3)
in the bottom hole (5) in the bar, fit the
clutch cover and tighten the nut with your
fingers. Check that the pin (4) on the
clutch cover has gone into the hole (6)
down on the saw.
FIG. 3
4. Make sure to fit the chain in the correct
direction of rotation.

FIG. 4
5. Lift up the tip of the bar and adjust
the tension of the chain by turning the
tensioning screw until the side links are
flush with underside of the bar.
6. Tighten the tensioning screw.
1. Release
2. Tighten
3. Side tension
FIG. 5
7. Lift up the tip of the bar and tighten the
two nuts (12–15 Nm). Pull round the chain
by hand to check that it moves easily and
smoothly and is adequately tensioned.
Release the clutch cover and readjust, if
necessary.
WARNING!
The chain is very sharp. Wear safety gloves.
IMPORTANT:
• It is very important that the chain is
correctly tensioned, otherwise it wears
out quickly and can jump off the bar.
Check the chain tension at regular
intervals, especially on new chains,
which expand on use.
• Never use the chainsaw without the
bumper spike fitted. Fit the bumper
spike on the front of the saw with the
two screws.
USE
FUEL AND CHAIN OIL
Use petrol mixed with 2-stroke oil of good
quality, intended for air-cooled 2-stroke engines.
Recommended mixing ratio.
40 parts of petrol to 1 part of oil, or 25 parts
fuel to 1 part of oil. The engine is designed to
operate on unleaded petrol.

IMPORTANT:
• Do not use pure petrol without added
oil, this will quickly ruin the engine.
• Never use oil intended for 4-stroke
engines or for water-cooled 2-stroke
engines. This oil can contaminate the
spark plug and exhaust port, or cause
the engine to seize.
WARNING!
Petrol is highly flammable and can in some
circumstances be explosive. Avoid sources of
heat, e.g. smoking cigarettes, naked flames,
electrical sparks, etc.
