• Use the right tools. Do not use low-powered
appliances for heavy work.
• Use the power cord only for its intended
purpose. Never carry or pull the appliance
by the power cord. Do not pull the power
cord to pull out the plug. Keep the power
cord away from heat, oil and sharp edges.
• If using the appliance outdoors, only use an
extension cord approved for outdoor use.
• Use a strong support when cutting bundles
of branches and thin branches. Do not
stack the wood, do not let anyone hold it,
and do not hold it with your foot.
• Always work upwards on slopes.
• Always apply the bumper spike to the wood
before starting the appliance and starting
to saw. Lift the back edge of the appliance
and guide it with the grip on the front
handle. Allow the appliance to swing
around the bumper spike. In order to move
the bumper spike, lift the bar off and gently
press down the front handle. Pull back the
appliance a little, apply the bumper spike
lower down along the cut and lift the back
handle.
• Do not stop the chain before removing the
bar from the wood.
• If you are making several cuts, switch off
the appliance between cuts.
• Plunge sawing and horizontal cuts should
only done by qualified personnel.
• Apply the bar at the minimum possible
angle for horizontal cuts. Be very careful,
because the bumper spike cannot be
applied.
• When sawing with the top side of the bar
the saw will kick back towards the user if
the chain gets stuck. Always saw when
possible with the underside of the bar,
because the tool is then drawn away from
the body towards the wood.
• Be especially careful when sawing
splintered wood. Sawn off pieces can be
thrown up – risk of personal injury.
• Do not use the appliance to remove nails,
etc.
• If possible support the appliance against
the trunk when cutting off branches. Never
cut with the tip of the bar.
• Cutting branches from live trees should be
done by qualified personnel – risk of

pressure. Do not cut free-hanging branches
from underneath.
• Never stand on the trunk when sawing off
branches.
• The appliance is not intended to be used to
cut down trees and branches in the woods.
• The power cord does not give the user the
necessary freedom of movement – risk of
personal injury.
• Always stand to the side of the tree being
felled.
• Watch out for falling branches when you
step back as the tree falls.
• Always stand uphill of or alongside logs
lying on slopes. Never stand below them.
• Pull out the plug before checking and/or
tensioning the chain, and when moving.
• Make sure you always have a firm footing
and a firm grip on the handles. Check that
the chain is not touching the ground or an
object when starting the appliance.
