• Follow the instructions for lubrication,
tensioning the chain, and replacing
accessories. The wrong tension and/or
lubrication of the chain can result in a risk
of the chain breaking and/or kickback.
• Keep the handles clean, dry and free from
oil and grease. Greasy handles make it
difficult to hold the appliance – risk of
personal injury and/material damage.
• Only use the appliance to cut wood. Do not
use the appliance for any other purpose
than the one it is designed for. Do not
attempt to saw plastic, bricks or building
materials not made of wood. Incorrect use
can result in the risk of personal injury and/
or material damage.
• Only use accessories recommended by the
manufacturer. The use of other accessories
can cause the chain to break/or kickback.

appliance and sharpen the chain.
• A worn or incorrectly sharpened chain
increases the risk of kickback.
GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• Check before use that the appliance, power
cord and plug are intact and undamaged. A
damaged cord or plug must be replaced by
an authorised service centre or qualified
person to ensure safe use.
• Never use the appliance if the cord or plug
are damaged, or do not comply with the
applicable regulations. Pull out the plug
immediately if the power cord or plug get
damaged during the work.
• Always maintain a firm footing and good
balance.
• Keep the work area clean.
• Avoid contact with earthed parts – risk of
electric shock.
• Always pull out the plug before working on
the appliance.
• Check that the power switch is in the OFF
position before plugging in the plug.
• The appliance must only be used by one
person at once. Keep all other persons,
especially children, away from the work
area.
• Check that the chain is not touching the
ground or an object when starting the
appliance.
• Never allow children, or anyone who is
unfamiliar with the appliance and these
instructions, to use it. Persons over 16 may
use the appliance under supervision as part
of their training. These instructions should
be enclosed with the appliance if it is sold
or passed on.
• Store the appliance out of the reach of
children.
• Never use the appliance if you are tired or
under the influence of drugs, alcohol or
medication.
• Do not expose the appliance to rain or
moisture. Make sure the work area is well
lit.
• Do not use power tools near flammable
liquids or gases.
• Store the appliance so that it cannot cause
any risk of personal injury.
• Always apply the bumper spike before
making a cut.
• Do not stop the chain before removing the
bar from the wood. Sawing without
applying the bumper spike can cause you to
be jerked forwards.
• Never use the appliance from a ladder, tree
or other unstable place. Do not saw with
one hand.
• Always keep the power cord behind you.
• The power cord must lead away from the
back of the appliance.
• Only use accessories recommended by the
manufacturer.
• Use a residual current device when working
outdoors.
• Do not overload the appliance. The
appliance will work better and more safely
at the load for which it is intended.
