Changing the Screen Resolution
The resolution of your screen is the amount of detail it shows. High
resolutions include more information, which makes individual elements
appear smaller. A low resolution shows less information, but individual
elements appear larger.

In the
Display Properties
window, select the
Settings
tab.

Drag the
Screen resolution
slider to the resolution you want to use.

Click
Apply
. If you receive an error message, or if your screen goes
completely blank,
don’t panic!
Just wait a few moments and your PC
will return to the previous settings.

Your new resolution will be shown on screen. Click
Yes
on the dialog
box that appears to accept the new resolution, or click
No
to return to
the
Display Properties
window.
Changing the Color Depth/Quality
Color depth, or color quality, is the number of colors that your display can
show. Some programs, such as demanding games, may require that you
reduce the color depth for the game to run smoothly.
For most tasks, you will not need to change the color depth. This has been
set at the factory for optimal results.

In the
Display Properties
window, select the
Settings
tab.

Use the drop down menu under
Color quality
to choose the color
depth.

Click
Apply
. If you receive an error message, or if your screen goes
completely blank,
don’t panic!
Just wait a few moments and your
Notebook will return to the previous settings.
