XT Lock – Configuration Setting Label & Security Seal

Your Medeco XT Safe Lock includes a Functional Mode Selection label to indicate the configured mode of the XT Safe
Lock. There are three functional modes that an XT Safe Lock can be configured to:

• Normal Mode

• Time Delay

• Dual Authentication

Prior to installation, you should confirm that the XT Safe Lock to be mounted on a specific opening is correctly configured
to match the desired lock function. Your lock assembly also includes a security seal to prevent lock disassembly and mode
setting tampering. If the Functional Mode Selection label is not on the lock assembly housing or if the mode selection is
not visible on the label, you should contact your dealer before proceeding with the installation.

Information on Scheduling the Medeco XT Key using the Control Key Type

For a Medeco XT Safe Lock configured in the Time delay functional mode, the Control key type provides a special
and unique function. Keys that are operating as a Control Key will override any of the time delay settings config-
ured in the Safe Lock. This allows for immediate access of the opening when needed for purposes of emergency,
safety of personnel, etc. You can set the Control Key function in the Medeco XT Web Manager software.

Information on the Mode Selection Label

The Functional Mode Selection label on the lock assembly indicates the configured setting. If your lock assembly
does not have this label you should contact your dealer before installing it.

Information on the Security Seal

If the security seal is not affixed to the lock assembly case, the seal is broken or it is damaged, you should not
install the lock assembly, but instead contact your dealer.
