20. Test Display. If the LCD gives an unusual display the ribbon cable may not
have seated correctly in the header. Unclip the ribbon cable, remove and
reinsert into the header. Re-secure and retest.
Reassembly is the reverse of the above procedure.
Note:
If the display has not originally been procured from Trident, then the software
will require upgrading to V1.12 or later. See section 4, 9 & 10.

This instruction provides the procedure for reconfiguring the LCD (301-028) of AFG
Mk4 PCB (300-157-V02) V1.06
– V1.10 (pre V1.12)
A change of LCD manufacturer has resulted for the need, in some instances for the
codes 3179 or 3178 to be entered into the Calibration menu to reconfigure the
display.

Home Display
If the configuration code 3179 has already been entered by the manufacturer, the
code 3178 will then have to be entered to display the text correctly.
If the LCD displays correctly the first time the gauge is switched on after a
replacement has been fitted, no configuration is required.
Configuring Display Format
21. Turn the Test PCB on using the On/Off button on the keypad (
- top left of
Test Gauge). The “Turn On” sequence should be

The buzzer should sound
o
The left hand LED should illuminate green
o
The right hand LED should briefly illuminate orange, and then change to red.
o
A MECMESIN AFG introduction screen should display briefly before
changing to the “home” display
