5.4 Making connections to the tractor
The following connections to the machine are required for attachment behind the tractor:
1.
Double-acting hydraulic function with float (minimum 20 l/min @ 180 bar)
2.
Single-acting hydraulic supply (advantageous, but not essential)
3.
12 V / 7-pin socket for lighting
4.
Pull cord for lift / lower latch
Route pull cord into the tractor cab. Connect the two lift ram hoses to a double-acting
hydraulic function (with float). Connect the hydraulic hose (with tap) to a single (or
double) acting hydraulic supply. Once the machine is set to the working position set the
required suspension pressure on the gauge between 110 and 150 bar (typically 130 bar)
and then close the tap. (This line can now be disconnected if there are limited hydraulic
connections available).
5.5 Machine and tractor stability
In order to ensure the stability of the combination of R3100 and tractor, it may be
necessary to add ballast to the tractor. If there is insufficient ballast the R3100-tractor
combination may become unstable. The ballast requirement (
m
z
), which should be at
least 20% of the unladen mass of the tractor on the front axle, can be calculated using
the Formula.
*If using balance weights on the frame of the mower, the mass will need to be added
to this figure.
WARNING: Turn off tractor and remove key before connecting
hydraulic hosing
When connecting hydraulic hosing to the tractor, ensure that the tractor
engine is turned off and that the ignition key is removed. Ensure that all
hydraulic connections are correctly tightened.
