Operation
CAUTION!
■
Danger of injury!
Keep animals, hair, jewellery, wide clothing,
fi
ngers and all other
body parts away from the suction nozzles of the device. They could become stuck to
the device. If the vacuum cleaner does become stuck, switch the device off immedi-
ately ( press the On / Off switch).
■
Switch on the device only when it is ensured that all the parts have been fully assem-
bled and that the dust container and all
fi
lters are correctly inserted.
■
To ensure that the mains cable does not become hot during operation, pull the mains
cable out of the device at least as far as the yellow marking. Do not pull out the mains
cable with force up to its maximum length (not further than the red marking) in order
to prevent damage!
■
Before a suction nozzle is replaced, always switch off the device
fi
rst and pull the
mains plug out of the plug socket!
■
On no account should the device be used to suck up the following:
– liquids or wet substances (e.g. wet carpet shampoo)
– glowing ash, cigarette ends, matches, etc.
– in
fl
ammable or explosive substances
– very
fi
ne dust (e.g. concrete dust), ash or toner
– pointed, hard objects such as large pieces of broken glass
The device has a dust level indicator (
14
). If it is red during use, the dust contain-
er (
7
) is full or the suction nozzle, the suction hose (
9
) or the telescopic tube (
3
) is
blocked. In this case, empty the dust container (
7
) (see the “Cleaning” chapter) or
remove the cause of the blockage (see the “Assembly” chapter).
1. Make sure that the accessories are attached correctly to the device (see the “Assem-
bly” chapter).
2. Pull the mains cable out of the housing to the length you want, ideally up to the yellow
marking, but not further than the red marking on the mains cable!
3. Insert the mains plug into a properly installed plug socket that is easily accessible.
4. Press the On / Off (
13
) switch to switch on the device.
5. Guide the suction nozzle over the surface to be cleaned. The vacuum cleaner can be
pulled along like a sledge during cleaning.
Tip
: The handle (
1
) is equipped with an exhaust air
valve (
2
). To reduce the suction force when vacuum-
ing upholstery, rugs or light, movable objects, open
the exhaust air valve (
2
) by sliding. Normally the ex-
haust air valve (
2
) should be closed so that the suc-
tion force is not unnecessarily reduced.
6. Press the On / Off switch (
13
) again after vacuuming to switch off the device.
