Device Operation Checking / Debugging
In order to check that the Intelimax is operating correctly both locally and remotely
please follow the below procedures.
Local Checking:
The LEDs indicate whether the modem has the correct signal strength and whether it
has established a data connection. The ideal state of the modem is when the
Power/RSSI LED is solid on, and the Data LED is flashing. This indicates that the modem
has good signal strength and as data connection. Please check the LED section for a
more detailed explanation of the LED flashing sequences. This process applies in both
CSD and IP modes, with CSD the data LED will flash when there is a CSD call in progress.
In order to determine whether the modem is sending and receiving data over the serial
interface, the PWR/RSSI and DATA LEDs can be used. The PWR/RSSI green LED will
indicate when serial data is transmitted out over the serial to the DTE, the DATA green
LED will indicate when serial data is successfully transmitted from the serial RS232 DTE to
the modem.
Local and remote checking:
The Intelimax GUI allows for the user to check the status of the modem both locally and
remotely via an IP connection as well as recover, signal strength and system logs for
diagnosis. The GUI status page indicates the signal strength, both current, and average,
max and min over the configured period, the current connection status, IP address,
registration, area information etc.
Remote CSD checking:
If the modem is remotely located then the best way to check is to change to IP mode
by using remote CSD to IP change.
