Installation Procedure
Follow the steps below to connect the Port Replicator to your notebook computer:
1. Align the Port Replicator connector with the matching port on the left side of the
computer.
2. Gently push the connector into the port until it is fully seated in place.
Device Ports
The Port Replicator connections are described in this section. They allow you to connect
to a wide variety external devices including but not limited to: floppy disk drives, hard disk
drives, optical media disk drives, keyboards, USB devices, printers, etc.
IEEE 1394 Port
The IEEE 1394 port allows you to connect an external digital multimedia device such as
camcorders, digital cameras, and so on.
To connect an IEEE 1394 interface device:
1. Align the connector with the port opening.
2. Push the connector into the port until it is seated firmly in place.
Your computer will automatically recognize the device as soon as it is attached and
install the appropriate drivers for you, if necessary.
