3.5 Track-Connection (1200Z with 1200B)
Install the cable for the track power in the appropriate terminal and fasten the screws with a
flat screwdriver (Illustr. 2 Point 7). Insert the green connector in the green receptacle on the
rear panel of your 1200B booster.
Connect the DiMAX
®
1200Z and the DiMAX
®
1200B with the provided booster cable. This
enables the data transfer between booster and central station.
The second booster interface terminal will connect to other digital boosters. You may use up
to four boosters with one DiMAX
®
1200Z central station.

First System Start
To start up your system
switch on the central station first and then the booster!
Turn on your DiMAX
®
1200B by the main power switch or by switching on the external power
supply. In the initialization phase during start-up the DiMAX
®
1200B will display flashing LEDs
in the following order:
All LEDs will flash briefly at the same time, then the green LED will flash first thereafter the
red stop LED. Then the left hand row of LEDs will flash in yellow from the top all the way
down to the blue feedback LED and back to the top again. Thereafter the green operation
LED will illuminate steady (provided there is a valid data connection to the central station) and
the selected maximum Amperage will be indicated on the left hand side by a red LED.
In case the DCC IN input terminal is used, please check whether the booster is properly
connected to the NMRA-DCC output terminal of the central station and that the central
station is not in STOP mode. Make sure that the polarity between booster and the central
station is correct, otherwise a short circuit will be produced if a train is passing the section
point. This may cause serious damage to the booster or the central station.
The left hand row of LEDs will work as a load indication and show the current Amp load of the
booster in a yellow column. Three LEDs are bi-color red/yellow and they indicate the selected
maximum Amp load (4, 7 or 12 Amps) in steady red.
Note: The load indicator works only if the indicator is in Output mode.
