5.5 PREPARATION
FOR
STORAGE
WHEN MACHINE IS NOT IN USE
At the end of the season, or if the machine is not
going to be used for a prolonged period, the
following is necessary:

Wash the machine with water. Do not point
the high pressure jet directly at the roller
bearings.

Remove all product residue from the machine.

Place the machine on a flat, level surface.
-
Place chocks under the wheels and ensure
that all protective covers are in place.

Check the machine thoroughly and replace
any damaged or worn parts.

Tighten all nuts and bolts correctly.

Lubricate all points that require lubrication
including the chains.

Apply a coat of rust protection on all worn
areas.

Put the machine in a safe, dry place.
It is in your own interest to carry out this
procedure correctly, as the machine will be in
perfect working order when you need to use it
again. In case of dismantling of the machine, you
have to follow the rules about pollution. In
particular you have to drain used up lubricating
and the various elements in accordance with their
differentiated structure.
