Martin Professional™ VC-Feeder™ user manual
IP65 connectors
The VC-Feeder™ uses custom IP65-rated connectors. To ensure that they
are correctly sealed and avoid damage, connect them as follows:
1. Line up the raised lug and corresponding groove on the connectors.
The connector pins and holes should now also be lined up.
2. Push the connectors together firmly but without excessive force. If
force seems necessary, separate the connectors and check that they
are correctly lined up, then try again.
3. When the connectors are correctly engaged, screw the locking ring on
the male connector onto the thread on the female connector until fully
tight.
Input connections
The VC-Feeder™ input (IN) is a 180 mm (7 in.) cable tail with a 6-pin male
IP65 connector that accepts 48 VDC power and data.
To connect to other currently available power and data sources, you must
first connect a Martin™ hybrid (power & data) input adapter cable, (P/N
11840165) to the VC-Feeder™ input (IN) connector. See Figure 4. The
0.25 m (0.8 ft.) hybrid input adapter cable has a:
• 4-pin male XLR connector that accepts DC power and data, and a
• 6-pin female IP65 connector that supplies power and data to the VC-
Feeder™.
Connect the 6-pin IP65 male input connector on the VC-Feeder™ to the
input adapter cable’s 6-pin IP65 female connector following the
instructions under ”IP65 connectors” above.
IP65 Input extension cables
If the VC-Feeder™ is not close to the power and data source, you will
need to extend the input cable. To do this, insert a Martin™ hybrid power +
data extension cable with IP65 connectors (see ”Power + data IP65
