
exactly that height over the markings b) press the “Use Automatic” button so that the
calculated values appear for speaker positions in the Manual Irregular fields, c) add the
number 150 (which is 1.5 m) to each of the z values, and d) Press the “Use Manual Irregular”
button to use the new values. If you do this the stage marks that appear on the editor window
will in fact correspond to your actual stage marks.
9. Calibrate your tracker(s)
Hold the tracker(s) on the centre of the stage at a height of approximately 1.80 m
(6 ft), making sure the small microphone has a clear line of sight to the four speakers. In
the MLD software, click on the “Set-up” option. On the screen that appears, click on
the “tracker calibration” button. Set the volume knob of each radio receiver so that the
display for each tracker is in the “ideal” position. Click OK to accept the readings. Click
OK again to exit the set-up window. Your trackers are now ready to be used. Please
refer to chapter 10 “System maintenance” for information on attaching the tracker to
your performers and tracker maintenance.
